Anjaneri is locally associated with Hanuman and his mother Anjani, which gives the hill a religious significance that sits naturally alongside Trimbakeshwar. It is close enough to make an easy day trip and high enough to reward the climb with open views over the surrounding hills.
The walk
The approach involves a climb with a reasonably demanding stretch on exposed rock near the top, so comfortable footwear and a clear head for heights are important.
